The pediatric rheumatology market is primarily driven by the increasing prevalence of rheumatic diseases among children and adolescents. According to the Arthritis Foundation, an estimated 300,000 children and adolescents in the United States have some form of arthritis or other rheumatic condition.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) is the most common rheumatic disease in children, accounting for about 50% of all cases. Other common rheumatic diseases in children include systemic lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, and juvenile dermatomyositis.
