The COVID-19 pandemic has affected people of all ages, including children. Children are less likely to become severely ill with COVID-19 than adults, but they can still contract the virus and spread it to others. In addition, some children have developed serious complications from COVID-19, such as Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C). According to the World Health Organization (WHO), as of March 2023, children account for around 8% of reported COVID-19 cases globally. The majority of children who contract COVID-19 have mild symptoms or no symptoms at all, and the mortality rate in children is lower than in adults. However, there have been instances where children have become seriously ill and died from the virus.
